Background
The BushPlay Project was founded organically through different influences and experiences. I have been largely inspired and motivated by the successful documentary, “Project Wild Things” coupled with my own work/parenting opportunity of taking my children outdoors, daily. I initially founded Wild Things (pre-school informal bush-play group), as a pre-school aged experience where I lead children and their parents on bush play experiences; location specific, with tailored naturalist themes and with utmost safety of participants in mind. It’s now named “Kiewa Wild Things” and is a registered playgroup with Playgroup Victoria and is hugely successful and popular. From this experience I have created The BushPlay Project and subsequently the Wild Things Bush Playgroup Setup Guide and BushPlay Kindergarten Programs based on my almost 2 decades of working and educating in the outdoors and a drive to create more access for more children to gain vital connections with nature.
